EXCITING THINGS
are happening
with cardiac care at Langlade
Hospital.
First and foremost, the hospital
will have a new addition for
cardiology services, including
a device clinic so people with
pacemakers
can have them
checked locally.
Also, with the
generous help
of the hospital
Auxiliary,
new telemetry
equipment in
Cardiac and
Pulmonary
Rehab enables monitoring of
12 patients at a time with even
greater accuracy than before.
Langlade Hospital has a new
nuclear medicine camera that
improves stress testing images and
will soon be adding new cardiac
stress echo ultrasound equipment.
Viewing the heart with cardiac
ultrasound equipment is much
better for showing cardiac function
in female patients than other
stress tests—and it can be done
more quickly. These investments in
building improvements and high-
quality technology is a reflection of
Langlade Hospital's commitment to
providing the best care possible for
our patients.

Cardiovascular Associates as
its cardiac services provider. This
group has consistently gained
national recognition for both
clinical practice standards and the
research efforts of their foundation.
Langlade Hospital is in the process
of formally becoming a satellite of
their organization and currently
has a cardiologist practicing at the
hospital three to four days a week.
On a personal note, I have had
the privilege of working with many
patients from our region and am
continually impressed with the
strength that patients display
throughout their recovery process.
Likewise, in the 29 years I have
worked in the heart-related field
for Langlade Hospital, the one
constant has been change—change
for the better.
Langlade Hospital has grown
and improved many programs to
continually enhance the speed
and quality of cardiac services
provided. The cardiac team
has worked hand in hand with
emergency, critical care, surgical
and rehab teams to complete the
continuum of care that cardiac
patients require.
Change is constant. In this case,
change is wonderful.
