Community Health
IN 2012,
the Community Health
Foundation of Langlade Hospital
provided gifts of over $130,000
to organizations and schools
throughout the community.
As a result of grants from the
Community Health Foundation,
the following projects came to
fruition:
CPR infant training mannequins
and Automatic External
Defibrillator (AED) equipment
for the Unified School District of
Antigo.
Red bags and supplies for the
The Community Partners for
Medication Safety initiative.
Pajamas and books for pediatric
patients at Langlade Hospital
Emergency Department.
A Safe Home Preservation
workshop.
Support for the new Langlade
Hospital Center for Health and
Performance.
Education and
Community Outreach
Additionally, the Langlade County
4-H program was able to give
members a new program, Extreme
Fitness Revolution, and Hope
Pregnancy Resource Center received
educational curriculum materials.
The Aging and Disability Resource
Center received funding to educate
local seniors about fall prevention.
Funds were designated for patient
Comfort Care Kits for the Gerald
& Dorothy Volm Cancer Center.
The kits included a thermometer,
journal, ice pack, hand lotion, ginger
candy, nail file and other care items.
The Foundation provided Rosalia
Gardens with a grant to advance
staff members’ skills in providing
dementia care. Funding was also
provided to The Boys & Girls Club to
launch a campaign to bring a Teen
Abstinence Sex Education program
to Langlade County. And the list
goes on.
grant is a program designed for
health-related projects in our local
schools. Through the program, the
Community Health Foundation
benefited Antigo, Elcho, White
Lake, Laona and Wabeno school
districts, along with All Saints
and Peace Lutheran schools.
Nearly $15,000 in funding has been
designated for items as diverse as
a composter, fatal vision goggles,
lacrosse goals, a treadmill, a
concussion impact educational
program, hygienic toothbrushes,
and busing for students to Garske
Flowage, the Clara R. McKenna
Aquatic Center and the fitness trail.
Foundation of Langlade
Funding has also provided youth
bikes for the adapted physical
education program, nutritional
incentives, balls, footballs, guest
speakers, incentives for a walking
club, stability balls, yoga mats, GPS
units, jump ropes, and pedometers
for elementary students. Grants
Hospital
have also provided healthy snacks
and Zumbatomics.
2012 funds for the Community
Health Foundation were raised
through private donations,
bequests and planned giving. Your
